Supporting Refugee Families Towards New Beginnings

The Sponsor Circle Program is a community-led resettlement initiative that supports everyday Americans in taking on the responsibility of welcoming newcomers to their communities.

• As a sponsor circle, we are responsible to:
• Raise $2,425 per person sponsored to come to the United States
• Welcome the newcomer family at the airport
• Find housing and support them in paying rent until they have found employment and can pay for it on their own
• Help them navigate paperwork associated with their arrival in the US
• Help them learn English and connect them with local ESL classes
• Help them find employment, obtain a driver’s license, and figure out local transportation
• Help them with cultural navigation as they try to understand US health insurance, tax laws, expectations in employment, social rules etc.
• Help their children register for and attend school and advocate for them to get help in learning English
• Help them complete US health requirements and regulations, find a primary care physician, dentist, mental health provider etc.
• Be their friend and connect them to the community
